John Helms was a student in our program before becoming a top local pro and popular instructor in our Digital Photography Certificate Program. During his job as a contract photographer at Ft. Benning in 2009/10, John worked closely with the Commanding General, LTG Michael Ferriter; when Gen. Ferriter assumed command of the NATO training mission in Iraq, he contacted John and asked him to join him. General Ferriter will be in charge of 50,000 troops who will help advise, train, mentor and equip Iraqi Security Forces, and John will document this important work, working closely with Gen. Ferriter. John leaves this Saturday to begin a 16 month contract.
